If you're having difficulty paying your gas bill during the winter, the Gas Assistance Fund (GAF) may be able to provide you, or someone you know, with a one-time grant for the amount of the gas bill, not to exceed $100.00.
CARE and FERA are two programs we offer that can provide you with a monthly discount on your bill. Simply complete our application and we'll let you know if you qualify.
Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA) - If you're not eligible for CARE, you may qualify for an 18% monthly bill discount through FERA. FERA is only open to households with three or more people. Qualification is based on income guidelines.
California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) - Offers a 30% or more monthly bill discount. Qualification is based on participation in certain public assistance programs or by income guidelines.
Energy Savings Assistance Program CA The Energy Savings Assistance Program (ESA) provides no-cost weatherization services to low-income households who meet the CARE income guidelines.
Neighbor-to-Neighbor Fund and LIHEAP
The Neighbor-to-Neighbor Fund - Provides up to $150 towards your SDG&E bill for customers experiencing temporary financial hardship, but who are not eligible for other state and federal assistance.
LIHEAP - A federally funded assistance program administered by the California Department of Community Services and Development (CSD) that offers financial aid for SDG&E bills and home climate control.

SDG&E Suspends Utility Disconnections
With the coronavirus pandemic causing a significant impact on the economy and people’s livelihoods, San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) announced today that it will temporarily suspend service disconnections. The disconnection moratorium will remain in place until further notice.

Breakfast Republic - Free Meals
From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Breakfast Republic location in Mission Valley at 1570 Camino De La Reina, unemployed workers can go pick up a pre-packaged comfort meal; the featured dish will change daily but might include meatloaf, roasted chicken, lasagna, or shepherd’s pie
